A ill-planned spur of the moment camping trip
Into the Mojave desert somewhere
Supplies included: a friend’s tent
that possibly wasn’t available, two sleeping bags,
cocaine, vicoden, Jaegermeister, and beer
A blast of cocaine on the 10 Freeway rocketed
the campers into the San Gabriel Valley
Where they quickly came down and panic set in:
The air conditioner wasn’t working, the traffic
was murder, and the desert seemed a lifetime away
“Let’s just get a motel room somewhere,”
the campers decided with little protest
So they did, and they checked into one by the
Freeway with an empty pool and broken barbeque
The next morning after a see-saw ride of
drunkenness, fighting, crying, and general depravity
The campers drove back to LA and saw ten
dead teddy bears lying on the road
“That is so sad,” they both agreed
