Recession Means Fewer Pets: A new study determined that as the recession deepens, many Americans have not only given up on having children, but also on having pets. The recession has hit me so hard, I can’t even afford pet peeves anymore.
Einstein's Archives Going Online: All 80,000 items in Albert Einstein's archives, including personal correspondence with half a dozen lovers are going online. In perhaps what has to be considered the most unusual of all his correspondence, Einstein complained to a friend that Jon Travolta tried to force himself upon him.

Estimates Raise Civil War Death Toll: A researcher at Binghamton University in New York has determined that Civil War casualties were 20 percent higher than what had been the official number for the last 110 years. I assume its a bit late to notify the families.
New Smartphone App to Hail NYC Cabs: A new just launched smartphone app called ZabKab allows people to hail a yellow taxicab in New York City by using their smartphone. If you really wanna get a New York cab driver’s attention, its probably gonna require more of a “smart-ass” phone app.

Waitresses Who Wear Red Get Bigger Tips: In a new national study, researchers determined that waitresses who wear red received bigger tips from male customers. Conversely, the waitresses who got the smallest tips seemed to be the ones who wore “I Luv Lorena Bobbitt” T-shirts.
