No Indoor Tanning Under 16 in NY: In response to the infamous tanning mom Patricia Krentcil, the New York state senate has proposed a new law prohibiting indoor tanning for anyone under 16 years of age. Critics say a law like this will force teens to do about everything under the sun to get that tan.

Needles Found in Sandwiches on Delta Flight: Delta Airlines and the FBI are trying to determine how sewing needles found their way into four turkey sandwiches that were served on separate flights from Amsterdam to the United States. Officials say about the only clue they have is that the culprit is obviously some kind of a prick.

Ivy League Schools Require Students to Swim: Nearly all Ivy League schools require that undergraduates either exhibit an ability to swim or take a beginner's course in swimming. Since most Ivy League students are swimming in money, I can see why learning to swim would be essential.

In a different stroke...I wish my students in L.B. knew how to swim. At least the Doggy paddle so they can save their as@es! :}
