Those who have read the books seem to like the movie.

I have not read the books. I found the movie okay. In a age of excessive reality shows, do we need a movie about a futuristic reality show? I recently watched the 2008 remake of "Death Race" with Jason Statham; similar in many ways.

Sharf's review is solid; especially on the excessive violence.
