LONG BEACH--A Chamber of Commerce
Breakfast Forum panel
will probe: "Have Beatniks

Weck Morgan, forum

Panelists include:

Mrs. Rosemary Lane,
moderator, the librarian
who set up a special "beat .
bibliography" display which
drew scores of angry young
readers to the library
shelves and resulted in long
reservation lists here for
most beatnik books.

Claude Self, bearded proprietor
of C'est La Vie, 197
Claremont Ave., a Belmont
Shore coffee house which
caters to fans of the beatnik
cult.

George Toll, manager here
for California Department
of Employment, who reports
Long Beach employers
don't like to hire bearded
men who resemble beatniks
or Fidel Castro.

The forum invited all
beatniks to hear the panel
at 7:15 a.m. Wednesday at
the Wilton Hotel. But William
C. Boyd, chamber public
relations manager, cautioned
beatnik guests to be
prepared for this shocker
